Joe Colombo 4801 chair for Kartell 1960s
Vintage "interlocking" lounge chairs by Joe Colombo for Kartell, Italy, manufactured in mid-century. The Joe Colombo's iconic 4801 armchair was designed in 1963. A limited number of wood 4801 chairs were produced in the 1960s, when the technologies did not exists to produce Joe Colombo's design using Kartell's material of choice.
The chair has been crafted with a bent pressed plywood seat, back and frame fitted together without any metallic parts or glue. It remains in excellent vintage original condition consistent with use and age. Serial number stamped *322. A unique and timeless armchair to collect !!
