A rare and highly desirable pair of modular lounge armchairs, the "Amanta" system is a true masterpiece of Italian design, dating back to 1966. Designed by the celebrated architect and designer Mario Bellini for C&B Italia (later known as B&B Italia), these armchairs stand as an icon of Mid-Century Modern and Space Age design. This is the First Edition, authenticated by the original C&B logo and structural details.
The armchairs feature the distinctive shell made of dark/black fiberglass (Fiberlite), which has been professionally polished and restored to highlight its original sheen. The luxurious padding is upholstered in high-quality natural leather in a warm cognac/camel tone.
A conservative restoration has been carried out: the leather has been sanitized and professionally restored, preserving its authentic charm and patina while ensuring an excellent, ready-to-use condition. The cushions feature the iconic tufted design with buttons, a signature element of the original series, offering exceptional comfort and a sculptural aesthetic.
The seating units are ready for immediate use and represent a unique opportunity to own a museum-quality piece of design history (the Amanta system is part of the permanent collection at the MoMA in New York).
