1950s Italian Biancardi e Jordan brass floor lamp
An exceptional exemplar of 1950s Italian Mid-Century Modern lighting, this rare floor lamp is attributed to the renowned Italian maker Biancardi e Jordan. Defined by its organic biomorphic silhouette, the fixture features a heavy, solid green marble base supporting sweeping, curved tubular brass stems that terminate in four multi-colored, flower-shaped aluminum shades (red, yellow, green, and taupe/grey).
Intentionally preserved in its authentic original vintage state to maintain its historic character and untouched patina, this floor lamp remains complete, sound, and structural. It is not worked. Optional modern rewiring is available upon request. A rare collectors' piece for high-end residential interiors, galleries, and mid-century design connoisseurs.
Care & Maintenance
To preserve the original 1950s patina and delicate finishes, daily upkeep requires only dry dusting with a soft microfiber cloth or feather duster across the patinated brass stems and lacquered aluminum shades.
For localized cleaning, wipe gently using a soft cloth barely dampened with lukewarm water and mild pH-neutral soap, drying immediately to prevent moisture marks.
Protect the natural green marble base from acidic solutions, vinegar, and harsh chemical cleaners that can etch polished stone, and strictly avoid solvents, abrasive pads, or aggressive metal polishes on the brass and painted elements to prevent stripping the authentic surface patina.
Always disconnect electrical power prior to cleaning or bulb replacements.
